The steps: Turn HEIC into a PDF on iPhone

  1. 1

Open this page in Safari (or Chrome) on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. 2

Tap the box above, then choose Photo Library to pick from Photos, or Choose File to browse the Files app (iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, Downloads).

  3. 3

Every image gets its own page. Use the up and down arrows to set the page order.

  4. 4

Tap Download. Safari puts the file in Files › Downloads – tap the download arrow in the address bar to open or share it.

How your PDF comes out

  • Each image sits on its own page at full resolution, with no cropping or blurring.
  • HEIC photos from an iPhone go straight in – you don't have to make them JPGs first.
  • Want to rearrange or remove pages from a PDF you already have? The Reorder PDF Pages tool does that.

HEIC and PDF in brief

  • HEIC is the photo format Apple uses by default on iPhone and iPad. It packs a picture into about half the space a JPG would need, yet plenty of Windows computers, web forms, websites and older apps refuse to open it.
  • A PDF looks the same on every screen and printer, which is why schools, landlords, print shops and application forms ask for documents in this format.

iPhone tips

  • To shoot JPGs from now on, go to Settings › Camera › Formats and pick Most Compatible (photos take roughly twice the space).
  • Picking from Photo Library can make iOS pass along a JPG it has already converted. If you need the untouched original, save it to Files first and use Choose File.
  • You don't need anything from the App Store – the tool works inside Safari and the file stays on your iPhone.

Questions & answers

Can one PDF hold lots of HEIC images?

Yes. Add as many as you like – each becomes a page in the order shown, and the arrows let you rearrange them before downloading.

Are there limits on pages or file size?

There's no fixed limit. Big batches just take longer, because your own device builds the PDF.

Do my images get sent anywhere?

No. Your browser does the conversion with your device's own processor, so your images stay with you. Once the page has loaded you could even switch off your internet connection.

Where do I find the converted file on my iPhone?

Tap Download. Safari puts the file in Files › Downloads – tap the download arrow in the address bar to open or share it.
