Which metadata gets removed?

EXIF (GPS location, date and time, camera and lens, serial numbers, software), XMP editing data, IPTC captions and credits, comments and extra embedded images. Colour profiles and orientation stay, so the photo looks exactly the same.

Will removing EXIF make my photos look worse?

Not for JPG, PNG and WebP – the image data is copied byte for byte and only metadata is dropped. HEIC and other formats are re-saved as a high-quality JPG, since browsers can't edit them directly.
